Nearly 16 lakh candidates download NEET admit cards ahead of June 21 retest
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Nearly 16 lakh candidates have downloaded their admit cards for the NEET (UG)-2026 re-examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said, ahead of the retest scheduled on June 21. Admit cards were made available on the NTA portal on June 14.
The agency said it had received requests from candidates who could not complete their account details and sought direct access to download admit cards. To accommodate them, the NTA allows candidates to download the admit card using their login credentials and choose either to download immediately and confirm bank details later for fee refunds, or to confirm bank details first and then download.
Candidates facing difficulties in downloading admit cards have been advised to contact the NTA helpline at 011-40759000 or 011-69227700, or email neetug2026@nta.ac.in. The NTA also urged candidates to regularly check its official websites for updates.
As part of security arrangements for the retest, the Indian Air Force transported question papers to 18 locations across the country, officials said. The NTA, in coordination with other agencies, has implemented a multi-layered security framework, deploying security personnel, local administration and law enforcement to oversee the transportation, storage and distribution of exam materials. Enhanced surveillance and strict monitoring will be in place at sensitive centres to prevent tampering or disruptions.
The NEET-UG 2026 retest on June 21 is being held for candidates affected by issues identified in the earlier examination. The exam remains the principal gateway for undergraduate medical admissions in India.
