Shah Rukh Khan thanks Shashi Tharoor in ‘Tharoorian’ style

New Delhi: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan thanked Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in the former diplomat’s grandiloquent style for congratulating him on winning maiden National Film Award.
Shah Rukh bagged the Best Actor accolade for his film Jawan in the 71st National Film Awards announced a few days ago, The Indian Express reported.
Many including his wife Gauri Khan took to social media to congratulate the actor for winning the award for the first time in 33 years of his career.
Gauri wrote on X: ‘Three of my absolute favourites just WON big…and so did our hearts (red heart emoji). When talent meets goodness, magic happens – So proud, and so ready to brag about them forever!’
The other two persons she mentioned are filmmaker Karan Johar ( for Best Popular Film) and Rani Mukerji in Best Actress category for her role in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway.
Shashi Tharoor wrote on X: ‘A National Treasure wins a National Award! Congratulations @iamsrk! (sic).’
Responding to the glowing remarks, the actor said: ‘Thank u for the simple praise Mr Tharoor. Would not have understood something more magniloquent and sesquipedalian ha ha (sic).’
The actor’s witty response to the Congress leader grabbed a lot of eyeballs online.
Tharoor, who is known for his exceptional command on the English language, often uses complex English words to drive home the message.
